Social Management
The United Nations Global Compact is the most significant corporate sustainability initiative in history, due to its reach and magnitude. Its objective is to encourage companies around the world to incorporate 10 universal principles related to human rights, labor, the environment and anti-corruption into their strategies and operations, along with broader social and environmental goals.
At TanGo Energy Argentina, we have subscribed to these guiding principles from the very beginning. We apply them in our daily management, in our social and business activities, and throughout all our projects and operations. Likewise, our actions are aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Under this premise, all of TanGo Energy Argentina’s social investment activities aim to generate a positive impact on the communities near our operations, contributing to local development in a sustainable and responsible way.
Our conviction
At TanGo Energy Argentina, we are proud to be part of every community where we operate.
Our actions and value propositions are part of an integrated sustainability plan, built on genuine commitment and the conviction that we are a key active player in each local environment.
To achieve this, we develop initiatives based on the needs of each community and our ability to support them by creating opportunities and improving local conditions.
Together with local stakeholders, we continuously plan, rethink and redesign the best proposals for each region, fostering collaboration, innovation and collective development.
Our commitment to the Global Agenda
Companies play a fundamental role in the protection of the planet. At TanGo Energy Argentina, we fully embrace this responsibility.
The 2030 Agenda provides the framework for the private sector to implement concrete actions that contribute to sustainable development, keeping in mind both the present and the future of society.
Environmental care is a core pillar of the Global Compact. It sets forth clear principles: supporting a preventive approach, promoting environmental responsibility and encouraging sustainable technologies. Following this path, we advance with determination toward the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
Policy
Our core pillars are Education and Local Strengthening, although we also support other initiatives tailored to the context of each community.
In our management and social engagement, we have defined the following strategic objectives:
- Strengthen relationships with communities through continuos dialogue and participation.
- Promote or participate in collective processes for regional development.
- Act with mutual respect and promote human rights.
Our management pillars
Our social management is constantly evolving, adapting to local needs and opportunities.
We focus on two main pillars:
Educational Development
We foster continuous exchange and learning to develop essential skills. Thus, we share and build knowledge with our audiences in each region. This pillar strengthens resilient communities and encourages innovation and creativity, enhancing local capacities to face new challenges.
We promote projects that develop technical, digital and soft skills, preparing individuals and organizations for the current and future job market while also contributing to personal growth.
Institutional Strengthening and Local Development
We seek to promote and support actions that enhance the capabilities and management of local institutions, while encouraging the socio-economic development of the communities where we operate. This includes fostering active participation from all relevant stakeholders.

Energy Cities Program
With the aim of supporting local government teams in Malargüe and Luján de Cuyo, both in the province of Mendoza, in designing a comprehensive energy transition strategy focused on environmental sustainability, energy equity and resilience and adaptation to climate change, we implement the “Energy Cities” program through the organization RIL (Red de Innovación Local).
The initial challenge is to understand what the energy transition implies in each city and what the limitations and potential are. The expected outcomes for the cities are the strategic guidelines for the energy transition on the one hand, and the design of a sectoral public policy on the other. To achieve this, several stages are carried out, through which the strategy to become an Energy City is shaped.
During 2024, government teams will develop an exhaustive diagnosis of the city’s situation regarding this issue, identify opportunities for improvement and work on an action plan to address the city’s public challenge.
Efficient Cities Program
This program is aimed at mayors and their coordination teams, to enhance their knowledge and help them incorporate key tools to lead an integrated and efficient management. This program has been carried out in the Municipality of Catriel since 2023 and, throughout the training, the participants design and consolidate their management plan, implement monitoring schemes and develop a communication strategy to share their initiatives and projects.
In addition, the program includes support for Social Development teams in the implementation of the Social Management Dashboard for 6 months on an intensive basis, followed by group work. The dashboard is a tool that allows local governments to access information about their social policies, monitor them and visualize related statistics.
“My First Job” | Internships
Since 2019, through coordination with different institutions, we have welcomed students to carry out internships in different positions within PAESA, focused on operational management as well as on cross-cutting support areas.
These internships give young people the opportunity to learn more about one of the most developed industries in the region while also gaining technical and professional knowledge for their training and continued education.
Today, in our operations in Río Negro, we have interns from the National University of Río Negro and the National University of Comahue, from different technical and administrative programs.
Scholarship Program for Students
Among the initiatives that Aconcagua Energía has begun to implement is the scholarship program “Energía para Crecer” (“Energy to Grow”), a program that seeks to support students in their final years of schooling and academic education.
This program began to take shape in 2023 and in 2024 it started its implementation, currently including 41 students as part of the Program, 20 of whom are from the province of Río Negro.
The scholarship program is designed for secondary school, tertiary level and university students, and is coordinated through an alliance with UFLO Universidad de Río Negro.
Those who receive the scholarships participate in a program that includes different in-person and virtual activities, such as individual tutoring, group workshops and personal follow-up meetings, as well as activities with the educational institutions’ teams.
Argentinos por la Educación
Our presence in different communities drives us to support programs and initiatives that add value. In this regard, since 2024 we have decided to support the campaign led by “Argentinos por la Educación”, an organization made up of different sectors of society that share a common goal: transforming education, with a focus on strengthening public education.
To achieve this, Argentinos por la Educación carries out awareness campaigns, establishes institutional agreements and highlights impactful data that help work towards improving Argentina’s educational system.
Equipment and Infrastructure
In 2023 we joined the consortium promoted by the Sindicato de Petroleros Privados de Río Negro, Neuquén y La Pampa (Private Oil Workers’ Union of Río Negro, Neuquén and La Pampa) to acquire an emergency medical helicopter that can be used in health-related emergencies affecting people in the industry, as well as in situations of need in neighboring communities.
The importance of this participation also lies in Aconcagua Energía’s strong belief in joint work for the benefit of the community, always prioritizing Health.
Sports Sponsorship
Since 2022 we have supported the Club Social Unión Deportiva Catriel through sponsorship that enables the institution to carry out its activities, acquire equipment and cover expenses associated with participation in different competitions. In addition, through the institutional relationship, we evaluate complementary activities that contribute to sports development.
In this same spirit, we have also supported projects from other institutions such as the Club Hípico Cipriano and Catriel Rugby Club.
Business Strengthening
We are a key player in local and economic development, and also in promoting and strengthening other companies, whether or not they are part of our value chain. In this regard, at the end of 2023 Aconcagua Energía decided to carry out, during 2024, a series of training sessions aimed at companies in the provinces where the group operates.
These activities are initially focused on providing knowledge of technological tools and how they can be applied in the business and entrepreneurial world.
Other Community Initiatives
At Aconcagua Energía we work with the conviction and commitment to being an active member of the community and a good neighbor to other institutions. In this regard, we continue to assess the possibility of supporting the development of other activities that are relevant and important for our neighboring communities, as long as they are aligned with our values and principles and focused on collective benefit.
UN Global Compact Principles
Our corporate commitment is reflected in the integration of the 10 universal principles and in our active contribution to the SDGs, ensuring that every TanGo Energy Argentina project generates a positive impact on people, communities and the planet
